What is Dante and what do we do with it?
Dante is a network platform focusing on AV connectivity that’s easy to use. We enable communication, experiences, inspiration, and collaboration to be shared between people and spaces using one connection.

For Eclectic Events and its customers, it opens a world of possibilities and flexibility when it comes to handling all the audio requirements across the entire event production environment.
Dante allows us to run all our audio requirements across the network instead of bundles of XLR cables.
AV systems have traditionally required point-to-point physical connections between devices, resulting in cumbersome amounts of specialized, single-purpose cables that define where audio and video signals can go.
Changes are labor-intensive and expensive, and noise and signal degradation are constant companions as distances grow. The result is systems that are difficult to deploy and even more difficult to adapt as demands shift.
Dante replaces all connections with a computer network, effortlessly sending video or hundreds of channels of audio over slender Ethernet cables with perfect digital fidelity. All connections are now managed with software, making routes fast, readable and reliable.
Because all devices share the same network, signals can be sent between any devices no matter where they are located on a site, with no change to the wiring at all. Dante systems are easily expanded, exactly as one might add a printer to a network. Just connect additional devices to any available network jack and start using it.
Dante is the evolution of AV systems, converging all previous connection types into one. Dante delivers vastly superior performance while making these systems easier to use, easier to expand, and less expensive to deploy.

In short, Dante allows us to route any signal from and to any place in the network where we have Dante-enabled hardware or software.
These can be I/O boxes that translate between the digital signal and XLR ( input and outputs ), Amplifiers that have built-in Dante connections, and many other solutions.
For example, we use it to route the same audio signal for the Main PA to our video team for the recording and live stream audio. In traditional setups we would have to run a separate set of cables from the main mixer, now we have a small Dante I/O box at the video rack that receives the audio signal and sends it then to the video team for their management.
Dante also allows us to expand our setup for larger events where a separate Stage mixer is required.
Instead of creating analog splits we create now digital splits without any extra cables.
Why did we get certified?
Although Dante is used widely in the world it has very specific behaviors and configuration requirements. The Certification allows us to train everyone within Eclectic Events to understand all the details and specifics around it.
Although in most cases level 2 certification would be enough, we decided to train everyone up to Level 3 to ensure maximum exposure.
This will help us with all of our event production events but also where we support our customers with their requirements for installations.
What’s next?
At eclectic Events, we continue to strive to provide the best experience and know-how to our customers and will be keeping an eye on any new training and certifications we can do.
